In 1989 and at the age of 21, he was a cofounder of Advanced Interactives Inc., a technology startup which developed solutions for integrating multimedia felon databases across city, state, county, and federal law enforcement agencies. He raised over $200,000 in angel funding to develop a working prototype that put digital cameras in the hands of police officers a decade before such systems became common.From 1995-2001, he managed a tech venture fund for the U.S. Depts. of Energy and Defense, and administered an annual $1M applied technology grant program at the University of South Florida. He reviewed hundreds of business plans and helped to further the development and marketing of dozens of new technologies, and was closely involved in contract and intellectual property matters for many successful projects. In 2001, Guy founded Innovation Insight, a Florida research firm that specialized in high-tech market intelligence. Innovation Insight provided market research, deep social media analytics, text mining, organizational and social network analysis, econometrics and qualitative+quantitative research design and execution. In 2011, his firm merged with Tucker/Hall, one of Florida’s largest and most respected PR agencies. As a Shareholder and VP, Hagen led the firm's marketing, digital strategy and research, and cybersecurity engagements for many national high-profile clients. Since then, he’s dived back into the entrepreneurial world and has been helping to launch an industry-shaking analytics firm that creates immediate, startling bottom-line value for companies transacting in the commercial real estate space. His work involves technology and corporate strategy, marketing and brand strategy, and development of an unprecedented cloud-based expert systems platform.
