I am a commercial insurance lawyer with both contentious and non-contentious expertise.The focus of my insurance practice is acting for policyholders on contentious and non-contentious insurance matters. I have nearly 20 years' experience across a broad range of sectors (including energy and resources, financial services, construction and engineering) and insurance classes (in particular directors’ & officers’ liability, property damage, business interruption, professional indemnity and public liability).I have advised many of Australia's biggest and most high-profile companies on all aspects of major property and liability insurance claims, including:• Preparation of claim and circumstance notifications;• Policy coverage issues; and• Policy recoveries through negotiation, mediation, litigation or other dispute resolution mechanisms.Much of my work arises in the context of shareholder class actions and major regulatory regulations or claims. My non-contentious insurance work includes:• Advising on insurance and indemnity issues for some of Australia's largest and most complex projects and corporate transactions;• Advising clients on their insurance policy wordings, and assisting to achieve valuable coverage enhancements at renewals; and• Advising companies and individuals on the scope of corporate deeds of indemnity, and their interaction with directors’ and officers’ insurance policies.I am recognised for my insurance expertise in Chambers Asia-Pacific and Asia-Pacific Legal 500.
