Manage incoming and outgoing mail for assigned buildings within the U.S. Department of Education headquarters in Washington DC in accordance with USPS rules and regulations. Sort, distribute, and deliver incoming mail to, and collect and process outgoing mail from, customers within assigned buildings. Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of mail to and collection of mail from customers on assigned mail route. Record and control incoming and outgoing mail (registered, insured, express, and certified); maintain required forms and logs. Research and retrieve data to assist in locating non-deliverable mail. Perform related administrative duties: process and file internal documents and forms, maintain supplies, maintain records to document and account for mail and materials dispatched and received, obtain receipt signatures, operate and maintain mail-processing equipment including metering machines, scales and postage accounting equipment. Provide customer service support over the phone and in person.
