I worked with close to 20 different clients over my 2 1/2 years with Fuel Interactive to optimize sites for user experience and search engines. As the senior team member, I led much of the SEO strategy decisions. I was also responsible for digital campaigns, optimizing those efforts for the best ROI for our clients.

I covered anything that happened in Georgetown County, from schools to local government to features on people or businesses in the community.

Covered the Sumter City Council and the Sumter County Council to try to understand and explain all the happenings to the people of Sumter. Also was responsible for covering state politics and Shaw Air Force Base

I wrote the Crime Blotter for The Free-Times, a weekly paper in Columbia. The Crime Blotter is one of the most popular parts of the Free-Times and is based on the incident reports found at local police stations.

Senior print journalism students at the University of South Carolina spend their final semester producing the Carolina Reporter, a bi-weekly publication.

I was selected as the SCPA intern and worked at The Item, in Sumter, S.C., for the summer. I wrote on a variety of topics but focused on business reporting.

I worked in the Columbia bureau of Media General, under Robert Kittle. I learned about the broadcast side of news and about covering South Carolina Legislature.

I worked at the Express-Times, mainly under the direction of the City Editor Eileen Holliday. I wrote for every section of the paper in my time there.
