Supported customer to successfully achieve the VDSL2 interoperability with third party CO/CPE against legacy Ikanos modems. This helped them to achieve critical milestone to enter Japanese DSL market with non-Ikanos chipset.Released source code to customers after open source review using Blackduck tool.Implemented an enhancement to IPv6-in-IPv4 tunnel 6RD protocol, on a network protocol stack running on a Qualcomm’s snapdragon family chipset.In this process, gained knowledge and familiarity on the following:• Qualcomm’s open source review process.• Escrow process• Secure ‘C’ coding practices• Source code management using GIT• Code review and integration using Gerrit.• ARMv8 architecture

Design and development of Firmware for GigaDSL CO & CPE, frequency division duplex counterpart of G.Fast, to achieve 1 Gbps over copper lines, while interoperating with legacy VDSL2 100/100 modems. Participated in lab demonstrations and field trials resulting in design wins in Japan & Korea. Played a key role in the Ikanos’ demonstration of world’s first true gigabit performance ,i.e. data rates of more than 1000 kbps over copper lines (refer to the media link provided below).Designed and developed Firmware for finite state machine and algorithms of 1-port CO based on the Vx185/CPE platform for FTTC (Fiber-To-The-Curb) deployment, to achieve aggregate data rate of 300 Mbps.In this process, gained knowledge and familiarity on the following:• Configuring and troubleshooting Jenkins Build Server• Development using Scrum and Agile methodology

Designed and developed of Firmware for FSM and various features on Vx180 & Vx185 CPE platforms using Nucleus/MIPS, mass deployed in various countries in Europe and South America. Managed delivery of various firmware features and modules of the DSL modem.Managed technical tasks, handling risks, analyzing requirements, software configuration and management.

Managed a core team of 4 to 8 people tasked to deliver various complex firmware modules of the DSL modem.Managed customer releases and design and development of various features on 5 generations of Ikanos’ DMT based VDSL1 and VDSL2 CO & CPE modems deployed in millions in Japan and Korea.

Lead a core team of 4 to 5 people to design and develop various features on 5 generations of Ikanos’ DMT technology based VDSL1 and VDSL2 CO & CPE modems mass-deployed in millions in Japan and Korea.Played a key role to enable Ikanos to be world’s first company to demonstrate both ADSL and VDSL capability simultaneously on same CO chipset at a major VDSL standards event. I have developed the G.hs protocol that supports both ADSL and VDSL and dynamic switching between those protocols, and using the ATM or PTM transport protocol, based on the CPE type detected at run-time.

Lead a core team of 2 to 3 people working as consultant to Ikanos, to implement software modules such as hand shake protocol called G.hs, and counters as per G.ploam.Key team member of the ADSL software modem called Host G.lite developed in-house by Sasken. This was developed on Philips Trimedia processor with a third party AFE. Attended various ADSL interoperability plug-fests and was responsible for interoperability. The software modem was licensed to a US based vendor and was shipped in millions.Implemented enhancements to Telecom network planning software for Nortel Networks. I worked onsite at Nortel, Ottawa, Canada for this project.
