Rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands into data is what I like to do. Why? Because I’m passionate about finding those key pieces of information buried in the numbers that help answer the questions I am asking. Having spent over 10 years working as a biologist in the Pacific Northwest, I am strongly drawn to questions about wildlife, wilderness, and the environment. I easily find my state of “flow” when applying data science techniques to questions about the natural world – particularly when transforming numbers into graphs, maps, and images that leverage our natural ability to visually recognize patterns. My end goal is to tell a story with data that elucidates, educates, and inspires. To accomplish this, I use a wide array of tools and knowledge: • R, R Markdown, Shiny apps
