Experienced system analyst with a demonstrated history of working across teams in a large non-profit organization to help remove impediments to the SDLC, smash silos, and improve business processes. Referred to by some coworkers as Kathlepedia for an ability to learn and retain organization specific knowledge and new technologies in a short period of time.My experience at Rotary has revealed my talent of translating between agile teams, individuals in IT, and the business. I listen closely, remember details, and ask the right questions to promote understanding between stakeholders to keep work moving. I am comfortable navigating ambiguous challenges and enjoy serving as Scrum Master in an Agile environment. My first position at Rotary was a customer service and support role for a dozen programs, but my manager noticed early on my ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and encouraged me to help senior team members adopt more tech savvy processes to improve efficiency and save staff time, which started my path to the world of IT. Peace Corps service was a life changing experience that helped me develop project management and interpersonal skills. I organized two large community projects and received grant funding to build 34 stoves for families who previously cooked over open fires. I love taking on difficult challenges, helping people, and developed the skill to listen for unspoken concerns in three languages. I attended the University of Michigan where I earned a B.S in Environmental Science with a minor in Global Climate Change. My favorite two classes had group consulting projects where we developed detailed plans to help the University Union move towards zero food waste and designed a sustainable urban neighborhood based on a real life property in Chicago undergoing new development.
