I was brought into the Miami market to initially to aid with the integration and acceptance of the 3rd RNC to the market. This involved creating Iur links between this and the existing RNCs and supporting other tests, including the MAD Router checks. The work involved adding resources in the Alcatel RSP and then adding cross connects in the Ericsson DACs. The work then expanded into supporting the roll-out of SVCC and HSDPA across the entire 3G network, along with the addition of Ethernet T1s. Once this project was completed, Miami introduced a 4th RNC into the network. Again I was involved in the integration of the RNC into the network and then performing a WBTS rehome program, moving WBTS onto the new RNC. I also supported the roll out of RU20 software across the RNCs.As well as the project work, I was also tasked with the creation of new WBTS on the RNCs, troubleshooting the network and liaising with Nokia Tier 2 when needed and general support with HW/SW issues. This was alongside the continuous monitoring of the network and the disaster recovery effort after Hurricane Ike.Whilst working in the T Mobile switch, I was responsible for providing training to the local switch engineers on the RNC and UMTS network.
