Strategic lead for the delivery of policing services within Powys County area including policing engagement with partners at a local and county level to promote community confidence and safety; devolved budget holder for annual budget of £15million and line management of some 400 plus staff; and Nationally accredited Strategic Firearms Commander, Gold Public Order Commander and Critical Incident Commander.

In this role I was Head of the Force Inspectorate with corporate responsibility for ensuring that our local operational delivery units delivered a high quality service to our communities monitoring their performance against the organisational business priorities and where appropriate providing support, guidance and good practice to assist their service performance improvement.

Commissioned in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve Training Branch working with Air Cadets in all aspects of good citizenship, adventure training and Duke of Edinburgh Award. Served as a Squadron Officer in number of Squadrons within No 3 and 2 Welsh Wings and Squadron Commander of 1358 (Pontardawe) Squadron.

I had responsibility for the development and delivery of a thirteen week extensive development programme for police trainers and a four week programme for Trainer Development Officers. This role also included assessment of these staff members as to their suitability to undertake this role within the police service and other partner organisations.
