I've been with ANAC since August 2008. I joined the Agency in the second group of the first public tender.My previous aviation experience was as a passenger, but when I joined ANAC, I was assigned to the current Airport Infrastructure Department (SIA), where I stayed for eight years. I then worked in the Airport Economic Regulation (SRA) and Institutional Planning (SPI) Departments.I'm currently in the Safety Office (ASSOP), responsible for advising ANAC's Board of Directors on matters relating to Safety. I act as Promotion and Continuous Improvement Coordinator and, in addition, I am the NCMC (National Continous Monitoring Coordinator), which, in a nutshell, is Brazil's focal point with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) for matters relating to the USOAP-CMA Program.Talking a little more about my current duties, the Promotion and Continuous Improvement Coordination (CPMC) has, as its name implies, two essential functions relating to Operational Safety.Regarding promotion, the Coordination Office is currently responsible for the secretariat of the BAST (Brazilian Aviation Safety Teams) groups, holding events, and creating support materials on operational Safety. In addition, it is responsible for all training related to Operational Safety at ANAC, both for its employees and those it regulates.About Continuous Improvement, our work is more internal to the Agency, coordinating the USOAP-CMA Readiness Program. This program aims to ensure that ANAC can receive an ICAO audit anytime. At the same time, the result of this self-assessment work feeds the indicators in the Brazilian Civil Aviation Operational Safety Program (PSO-BR) relating to the strategic objective of improving operational safety oversight capacity.
