My career is a story in two parts. The first half of my career spanned tech, being a small business owner with one of the few flexible working policies of the 1970s, teaching and even time as a Sound of Music tour guide in Austria when a short break from the tech world was in order.My tech career started in the days when a single computer filled a room and ran with 16K and a lorryload of punched cards, paper tape, magnetic tape and heavy disks. Having recently turned my curiosity to learning how to code mobile apps, I confirm times have definitely changed in the tech world :)The second half of my career began with a degree in Psychology, leading to training as a counsellor and hypnotherapist. A second career I thoroughly enjoyed.Since retirement I’ve advised small businesses and helped them to set up processes to keep them organised and ready to scale. I also volunteer for an NHS Trust to help them with their communications and engagement. I've lived and worked in the UK, Germany, Austria and France and can only hope the coming generation in the UK find a way to have as many opportunities to work abroad as I did.I'm here on LinkedIn to keep up with what's going on in the business world.
