    The International Canoe Federation (ICF) awarded Wilderness Tours and Ottawa Kayak School the 2015 Freestyle Kayaking World Championships in July 2014. The championships are held every 2 years. The acceptable event planning window is 24+ months, Wilderness Tours was only given 13 months to procure sponsorship and over come logistical challenges with a remote location such as electricity, internet, crowd management, TV, media, live streaming and river safety. As the Head Event Director it was my responsibility of managing both the Wilderness Tours team, media and the International Canoe Federation as the governing body accrediting the international event. The event attracted the largest international crowd ever for a World Championships held on natural river. 211 athletes from 29 different countries completed.
