My role as a teaching assistant is a separate role from the coordinator's assistant. I run an Academic Literacy module for Anthropology 1 students in this role. This involves weekly lectures based on helping the students become better "academics". Lectures such as "How to Write an Essay" and "How to Reference" are examples of what these lecture sessions include.

My role is to assist the Anthropology First year Course Coordinator (Prof. Shankar Aswani) in an administrative capacity. I assist with lectures, meetings and deal directly with all first-year anthropology students at Rhodes University.
