Deputy Editor
CurrentManage the Business section of The New York Times. Working with the Business editor and other deputies, drive coverage, assign stories and ensure they meet the journalistic standards of The New York Times. Help lead a department of more than 100 employees, managing a team of editors and serving as a resource for reporters. Serve as the final reader of stories before publication to ensure they meet expectations for independence for a highly scrutinizing audience. Since 2024 have served as the principal Deputy for the department: a primary point of contact for newsroom leadership and colleagues in other departments. Represent the department both internally and externally. Responsible for recruitment and retention, training and staff development.
