I'm a professional linguist working to improve machine learning and artificial intelligence products. I come with a versatile set of skills honed through a background in linguistics, environmental nonprofit, grant-writing, language education, history, and philosophy. My experiences have taken me around the world, where I have had the pleasure of teaching English (and learning Spanish!) in Spain and Costa Rica, studying and teaching linguistics in San Francisco, working on a language documentation project in Oaxaca, Mexico, and writing grants for an environmental nonprofit in Lexington, Kentucky. As a teammate, I strive to maintain a professional and polite demeanor, promote an environment of critical thinking and free expression, and to encourage cooperative and meaningful work. I have a special interest in environmental issues, focusing particularly on how language works to frame our understanding of the natural world and our relationship to it.
