I bring experience over 25 years of designing, leading and investing in a portfolio of initiatives applying innovation, design and community engagement for social good. I am drawn to endeavour which seeks to dismantle social inequity and committed to the meaningful participation of a wide range of people in creating change. My career has offered me the chance to work across worlds of design, data and technology, health systems, civic action, corporate innovation and science and research and I have an understanding of perspectives from different fields, and experience of accompanying different people on a quest to create impact.I am curious about mechanisms for social change and am a committed 'doer' in turning ideas for what might be into action.

We want to enable effective and reciprocal engagement of people that can augment the work of research and create positive change in global health.

Across the charity’s UK work, I scoped and led innovation programmes to influence areas of families' lives to support greater confidence in parenting and find ways of engaging with parents and children in daily life. I headed a major behaviour change initiative 'Wonder Words' to test ways to use everyday products and experiences to encourage parents to tune in and talk more with babies and children. -

Programme LeadNesta Apr 2008 - Jun 2014Managing initiatives to accelerate innovation in the social sector and creative economy:- Lead on open data initiatives. I initiated the Open Data Challenge Series to use open data to address pressing social problems, led a cities programme Code for Europe to place data technologists in city halls and launched the European arm of a global movement to share civic data apps – Civic Exchange. - Supporting creative and digital businesses to scale, through targeted support for start-ups and an initiative to accelerate data-driven businesses.- Managing a global programme of training for creative entrepreneurs with the British Council, leading to new business in Brazil, Chile, Nigeria, Russia and Macedonia.- Sharing innovation practice, through practical tools, events and products. -
