NYC Kids RISE is a nonprofit organization working to make attending and graduating from college and career training more accessible and achievable for all NYC public school students—regardless of their family’s current income or immigration status. Through the Save for College Program, every participating kindergartener will have an NYC Scholarship Account with free college funds; communities can work together to fundraise and contribute to scholarship accounts; families can use the program's tools and resources to learn about college savings account options and develop their own savings plans with support. The program piloted in 2017 in school district 30 and was extended citywide in 2021. My key responsibilities include: - Provides one-on-one technical support and timely follow-up to our families and other stakeholders to ensure that their issues are solved over the Hotline and via the Info Email - Conducts direct outreach to support families understand and complete key program steps- Delivers and facilitates weekly informational presentation in person and online in English and Chinese- Staffs events including supporting the logistics of preparation, execution, and follow up- Provides feedback and generates new ideas for ways to improve our program operations - Completes timely data entry with client relationship management database and Atlassian softwareAfter six months:- Takes on the event coordinator role to ensure the team is able to efficiently attend events of different sizes and types- Improves events process and outcomes in partnership with the Parent Foundations, School Networks and Community Scholarships teams- Builds relationships with Chinese-speaking communities at multiple school districts and identity ways to better serve the communities, especially non-native English speakers- Assists training of the new Deputy Directors, and drafts content for internal and external professional development workshops

Flushing Town Hall's Education Department works with more than 70 K-12 public schools, non-public schools and community organizations throughout Queens, NYC, and beyond. In a typical year, our 3-staff education team delivers approximate 150 intercultural arts programs reaching 22,500+ students and 8,500+ educators, family members and senior citizens. As an active member of this creative education team, I created and managed more than 20 long-term residencies simultaneously, from outreach, planning, grant writing, budget, implement, monitor, problem-solving, evaluate, data-collecting, to final report. I helped analyzing assessments and proposing professional development initiatives based on needs and trends. I ensured a welcoming and inclusive environment for students, educators and staff in both in-person & virtual spaces.

These years I led and assisted all types of FTH educational programs and built a strong foundation of essential skills as an educator and administrator. This experience also allowed me to deeply understand FTH's valuable works for the community it serves. I managed particularly more than 30 school workshops and assemblies per year, and maintained all long-term school partners. I gave welcome speech for each on-site program. I directed more than 300 students and teachers quickly and calmly in and out of the building between shows (field trips). I collaborated closely with 30-40 arts educators in designing curriculums and programs that integrate social emotional learning, 21st century skills, and intercultural readiness. I advised immigrant professionals with cultural adaptation strategies and resources that engage local learners. I streamlined data structure for department report in the first year I joined, and worked with other departments on annual data reporting.

Art Resource Collaborative for Kids (ARCK) is a nonprofit committed to fostering the creativity and social-emotional growth of K-8 graders from under-resourced communities in Boston Public Schools since 2012. ARCK's founder Sara Mraish Demeter is a former immigrant and a mother of three who works to promote cross-cultural inclusion and understanding among children.I assisted 3 ARCK educators and gained hands-on experiences of developing creative arts curriculums from researching to implementing for K-8 students and teachers. I helped tracking budgets and expenses, and managing supply inventory. I also contributed to the increased engagement of ELL students by suggesting and conducting differentiated instructions.

In other words, sweet, sweet sensory overload."As part of this celebration for diversity and inclusion, my roles was mainly about recruiting 150 art and food vendors. I also assisted in venue planning, on-site coordination, emergency management, and received outstanding reviews from vendor partners.

Nancy's Gallery, established by Nancy Lee in 2006 in Shanghai, presents contemporary artworks including paintings and sculptures from more than 30 outstanding artists. As a branch store manager and arts consultant, I developed new clients and helped the gallery achieve a 20% sales increase in the first month. I also trained two new staff to get familiar with artists and acquire client partnership skills. Through this experience, I realized that I thrive in a creative work environment with continuous learning and sharing, and I'm natural in connecting with people.
