About Hailey Schmidt

Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground". In my line of work, I aspire to do just that.My research focuses on the application of remote sensing technology, machine learning, and simulation modeling to agroecosystems across the United States. Specifically, I am interested in using these tools to contribute towards more precise management of woody encroachment. This work is currently being completed as part of my dissertation for a PhD in Rangeland, Wildlife, and Fisheries Management at Texas A&M University.I have worked on numerous projects with entities such as the UN FAO, NASA MSFC, U.S EPA, the California Academy of Sciences, and the University of Texas at San Antonio. Although my experience has varied over the years, my sights have always been set on a brighter future for our planet.
