My duties and responsibilities include budget preparation and financial management, daily administration, business development and leasehold management of the 40 acre intermodal facility; client relations and contract negotiations; project management of port improvement projects; grant writing and submission; local, state and federal political and governmental partnership development; future port development planning in coordination with the 5-member board of directors; supervision of port staff and grounds maintenance; waterways representative on the Shoals MPO Technical Committee.

Duties included financial management, administration and oversight of the 300+ member professional trade organization; supervision of staff including marketing director, bookkeeper and admin assistant; coordination and direction of association committees and their functions within the organization including 75+ members comprising the committees’ structure; budgeting, planning and directing the functions of the 7 member Executive Board, and interaction with a 23 member Board of Directors including monthly financial reporting, membership trends and governmental affairs activities; preparation, planning and direction of monthly membership meetings, special membership events and public events; determination of subject matter and writing of monthly columns in the association newsletter and monthly magazine insert for the local newspaper; involvement in the state and national affiliated associations.

Duties included financial management, administration and supervision of all port operations; marketing, transfer rate quotation and customer relations with all port clients; the establishment and maintenance of pertinent political and professional contacts creating favorable alignment with potential sources of improvement capital and current industry trends and practices; management and oversight of care and maintenance of all port facilities and equipment; solicitation of grant funding for major capital improvement projects; providing monthly financial and operational reports to an eight member board of directors; planning and administration of port activities, acquisitions and improvements in conjunction with the board of directors; overall management of the various aspects of port finance, administration and operations.

Duties included screening and administering enterprise zone business applications; surveying of capital and personal investments made by certified businesses in the zone as well as job creation and retention; preparing and presenting zone incentive packages and requirements to prospective industry during recruitment.
