During my time at BackTrack I've had the honour of working with young people, their families and the business as a whole. Here are some of my key responsibilities and achievements to date. - Developed and implemented individual care plans that reflect the hopes and dreams of young people, while managing and maintaining holistic physical and emotional wellbeing.- Supported each young person’s individual personal development, which enabled them to take greater responsibility in their own lives.- Contributed to the delivery of skill-based programs which facilitated the development of young people and their reintegration into the community.- Assessed young people’s core strengths and identified relevant skill development needs.- Adapted youth work strategies to individual needs and group dynamics.- Incorporated the principles of our framework ,‘The Circle of Courage’ to the BackTrack model of working with young people.- Crisis management of young people around mental health issues, criminal matters, housing and domestic and family violence.- Collaborated with, mentored and supported families, parents and carers involved in the young person’s support network. - Provided crisis intervention when needed. - Consistently worked to resolve interpersonal conflict in line with organisational procedures.- Collaborated with the Head of Education and Training to identify individual needs and strengths.- Worked collaboratively through challenges and consistently demonstrated effective and collaborative teamwork skills.- Managed five staff and oversaw BackTrack residence, which includes six full-time 24/7 care in residence, two respite and four tiny homes for young people who are living semi-independent.- Assisted my staff in managing life skills and case management of all young people, extending to parents, partners and children.- Liaised with external stakeholders; Centrelink, Juvenile Justice, DCJ & NSW Police; Supporting and advocating for young people.

During my six years at Centrelink’s Armidale Service Centre, I conducted assessments and provided support and counselling to young vulnerable people, clients at risk of harm and clients who are experiencing family and domestic violence.As a member of the National Unreasonable to Live at Home at Home team, I completed customer claims for young, vulnerable people who were not living with their parents or guardians. The Telephone Access Support team also saw me complete claims for crisis payments, child support exemptions and assisting customers in crisis.During my time in the role, I frequently applied my social work knowledge, theory and practice to provide high-quality outcomes for individuals, families and communities.

In my seven years as a customer service advisor with Centrelink, I not only managed daily operations, delegated duties and assisted the broader team, but also took on the position of acting team leaderI regularly delivered services to assist customers, designed in accordance with legislation and current government policy, and negotiated service options for a wide range of customers. When needed, I also referred customers to appropriate service providers, linking them with community support.
