Responsible for planning, coordinating and promoting the AOE’s programs, services, policies and resources using a variety of formats. I have the duty of interacting with statewide and national media, creating press releases and planning and creating opinion pieces for the AOE, among other duties. I also cover legislative functions, including tracking legislation, scheduling testimony, and interacting with the Governor's Office. My role also includes coordinating with agency teams to develop specific communication plans, supplement website and social media communications. Our small team handles social media, graphic design and photography, the website, and more.

Wrote news stories, student interest pieces and news releases for papers across the state of Nebraska and for the UNL wesbite.

Worked 40+ hours each week in "America's Most Beautiful Place" writing news and feature stories, taking photos, editing pages and ran a weekly music and adventure column.

Worked 20 hours each week out of the Lincoln bureau as a medicine and education reporter. Covered breaking news stories in Omaha on Saturdays.
