Work primarily on Clean Air Act issues like commenting on air permits and ambient air monitoring plans and evaluating enforcement issues with sources of air pollution; draft and submit comments on various local and federal rulemaking proceedings; develop white papers; collaborate with communities, colleges and universities to address local issues of air pollution; empower communities to affect policies that protect their health by reducing air emissions by drafting comments and appealing air permits on behalf of our members and creating advocacy alerts and campaigns for communities to voice their concerns.

Performed research on the costs and benefits of renewable energy; Compared regulatory structures and mechanisms in Alabama with that of other Southeastern states to determine strengths and weaknesses of Alabama’s regulations and regulatory bodies; organized and carried out educational campaigns to inform and engage the public around sustainability, efficiency, and renewable energy.

Assisted in legal research for policy work. Also assisted in briefing drafts of bills from Alabama and other states. Researched, drafted and assisted in the brainstorming process of proposals for advancing several green efforts in Birmingham.
