I have been a tutor at the Richard Green house tutoring services and multicultural student center since 2019 and recently accepted a role as the Graduate Assistant in 2021. I have tutoring for classes such as Astronomy, Anatomy and Physiology, and Medical Terminology. However, I am also well versed in Management, and business entrepreneur classes. Throughout this position I have learned to manage a team of staff members, balance time as a tutor, as well as a leader and convey the mission and vision of helping students reach their goals and discover their potential.

I was the front desk receptionist and the first face everyone sees in the Athletics Department at SCSU. I was responsible for greeting, redirecting and helping anyone who comes into the office, Organizing,copying, and faxing important documents. Also organization/ scheduling of calendars, meetings, and room reservations for the Coaches and Athletics department staff. I had the responsibility of helping with NCAA (DI & DII) compliance and student- athlete eligibility. I regularly handle confidential information and was constantly depended upon to complete any task assigned to me by the Interim Athletic Director/ Compliance Officer. I often used programs such as Word, Excel, Office 365, Outlook etc. as well as answering the office phone and keeping track of requests made by the coaches in the department (Recruiting visit forms, special event forms, CARA hours, Change of status forms)

I would dedicate 2 times a week to two young baseball athletes ( 9 & 12) for about four weeks every summer. I would spend time working with them on not only their hitting techniques but the mental techniques as well. How to manage their stress levels, overcome failure, keep an open mind, listening skills, and how to continue practice at home. I was taught alot through my time with those boys. They taught me that my voice can still be heard and respected (As a young woman teaching them about hitting) patience, communication, time management (sessions were only 45 minutes each) and how to understand that people differ in their learning types and what makes sense to them. It is important to understand who you are working with before expecting them to grasp what you are trying to teach to them.
