Internal business development creating new reporting and analysis tools, process mapping and optimization. Development and implementation of new systems and frameworks to further evaluate and interpret business data. Projects include implementation of a new process for handling raw material, redistributing material flow on the shop floor, reporting to analyze vendor performance, and a framework for managing capital projects with customers.

Designed mechanical equipment to meet requirements for various sawmill applications. Implemented tools for the engineering department to increase component standardization. Worked on R&D projects including CFD analysis, Web Development, and process improvement within the department.

Performed a feasibility study for a proposed co-gasification plant using coal and biomass to produce electricity and liquid transportation fuels. This study also involved a life cycle carbon emission analysis with captured CO2 from the plant used for EOR or stored in long-term underground sequestration reservoirs.

Interned at METLA in southern Finland analyzing trends in tree growth based on location and climate. Also focused on the effects of different forest harvesting practices on tree growth and development.
