Special Education Teacher
I began my career in September 2020 at Papillion La Vista High School as a paraprofessional while in school for a Master's program. Within a few months, an opportunity arose for a full-time special education position, which I eagerly embraced. In this role, I supported students with complex communication and physical needs, actively contributing to the development and implementation of a curriculum aligned with state standards. As a case manager for 26 students, I collaborated closely with multidisciplinary teams, including parents, therapists, and administrators. Together, we assessed student progress, identified learning barriers, and formulated effective strategies to promote inclusive education. Additionally, I played a key role in training paraprofessionals on learning objectives, behavioral approaches, and instructional strategies, ensuring cohesive support for our students' diverse needs
