I bring deep expertise in gender and the family, intersectional inequality, and work-family policy to design, create, and amplify human-centered solutions to seemingly intractable social problems. I am a freelance writer, researcher, and innovator open to new opportunities. I am a research and reporting fellow at New America's Better Life Lab. Along with my colleague Brigid Schulte, I run Better Life Lab Experiments--a research-driven tool for families seeking to more fairly share the load of running a household and caring for one another. The project combines the latest research on the gendered division of labor at home with the insights of behavioral science around behavior change and collaboration to provide families new models of family and household management.I'm also editor and co-founder at Work Life Everything, where I research solutions to the mental load and produce research-backed content busy working women can use to make the best decisions for themselves and their families and to point the way forward for the working families and care movements.I write about LGBT families, caregiving, and occasionally, the contemporary culture and politics of the Mormon Church. I'm a frequent contributor at Slate and my writing has appeared in the Washington Post, CNN Opinion, and Harvard Business Review.
