In this position, I am responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of an innovative information and digital literacy outreach program and associated learning activities focused on student success aligned with curricular and co-curricular programs. I collaborate with faculty and other campus partners to identify, implement, and promote student success through information literacy, digital literacy, and academic skill initiatives, including the use of digital tools and techniques to create academic work. Beloit’s learning outcomes, which include being an effective communicator, a creative problem solver, a productive collaborator, and intellectually and professionally agile, are embedded into everything that I do.I am the subject liaison for 13+ academic majors and their associated minors in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business/Economics and Communication departments. I provide library instruction for classes within those schools and hold individual research appointments for students completing research assignments in these disciplines. As the lead for marketing and outreach, I manage our social media accounts, including our YouTube (Morse Library) and Instagram (@BeloitLITS), which I started in 2019. All of our accounts have seen tremendous growth in both followers and engagement since that time. I also coordinate much of our programming, including our student orientation and the Night Against Procrastination, a huge study session with snacks and activities that occurs every finals week.I am responsible for managing our Collections, Access, and Acquisitions department, which consists of one full-time staff member and three to seven student employees.
