I believe that proper nutrition is at the core of a good life, and that everyone in the world deserves to have equal access to the components that make that possible. That’s why I am pursuing a degree in nutrition and dietetics at the University of North Florida. Upon graduation in May 2022, I will be entering an internship program to further my training in the field of nutrition. My ultimate goal is to open a private-practice focusing on intuitive eating and helping others recover from eating disorders and disordered eating habits. However, I am interested in all sides of the field of dietetics, with community nutrition having a special place in my heart.Throughout my time as a nutrition student, I have been able to excel in my courses while working a full-time job that sometimes requires me to work 6 or 7 days a week. It’s fair to say I have learned the art of time management and prioritizing responsibilities. In addition to this I’ve had the amazing opportunity to learn from two mentors while working with them hands-on and completing various social media content projects as well as nutritional handouts focused on binge eating and intuitive eating. One of my favorite activities I’ve done during my time at UNF has been as the nutrition research writer for UNFNutriNews, where I’ve been able to showcase my knack for research, writing, and evidence-based nutrition practice. I have had an interest in nutrition for as long as I can remember, because I realized very early on that nutrition can quite literally change someone’s life. Nutrition changed my life, and I want to be able to give other people that same opportunity.
