The Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) serves as the site’s designated first aid provider in the warehouse, coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Safety Program. The OMR can provide first aid care to injured employees, actively analyze tasks for potential safety issues, participate in the Workers’ Compensation process, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management. The OMR can function as a part of the larger safety team onsite, helping to provide assistance with all health and safety needs. This includes attending weekly associate safety committee meetings, greeting all new hires for the site, either within a group setting at New Hire Orientation or through one-on-one interaction. The OMR participates, as needed, in incident investigations and weekly case management review meetings. Onsite Medical Representative Responsibilities:Provide triage, first-aid, and/or referral to outside medical providers, if indicatedMaintain all records of care provided to associatesMaintain first-aid kits, inventory supplies, restock and clean equipment used to provide first aid careProvide accommodation recommendations related to job placement for all employees on restrictions given by a medical providerProvide daily activity logs to the safety team and senior leadership team. Provide analysis of all onsite incidents on a monthly basis including recommendations on how to reduce the risk and severity of injuries within the warehouseFrequent “floor time” to interact with both associates and managers, providing coaching on observed at-risk work habits. Attend and speak at daily “start-up” meetingsUnderstand and learn each department and job function within the warehouse to fully understand the body mechanics involved in every task. Is actively involved with improvements to the standard work process

Duties include but are not limited to:¨ opening and maintaining an airway;¨ ventilating patients;¨ administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including use of automated external defibrillators;¨ providing prehospital emergency medical care of simple and multiple system trauma such as:- controlling hemorrhage,- treatment of shock (hypoperfusion),- bandaging wounds,- immobilization of painful, swollen, or deformed extremities,- immobilization of painful, swollen, or deformed neck or spine;· providing emergency medical care to:- assist in emergency childbirth,- manage general medical complaints of altered mental status, respiratory, cardiac, diabetic,allergic reaction, seizures, poisoning behavioral emergencies, environmental emergencies, andpsychological crises. Additional care is provided based upon assessment of the patient andobtaining historical information.· searching for medical identification emblems as a guide to appropriate emergency medical care.· assisting patients with prescribed medications, including sublingual nitroglycerin, epinephrine autoinjectors and hand-held aerosol inhalers.· administration of oxygen, oral glucose and activated charcoal.· reassuring patients and bystanders by working in a confident, efficient manner.· avoiding mishandling and undue haste while working expeditiously to accomplish the task. lifting the stretcher (be able to lift and carry 125 pounds),¨ placing it in the ambulance and seeing that the patient and stretcher are secured¨ continuing emergency medical care while enroute to the medical facilityconstantly assesses the patient enroute to the emergency facility, administers additional care asindicated or directed by medical control,¨ assists in lifting and carrying the patient out of the ambulance and into the receiving medicalfacility

Competent in phlebotomy and know how to use established phlebotomy systems, procedures, and techniques. Performs high quality routine and advanced venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures. Performs duties in a timely, accurate, and professional manner, according to department standards. Performs select laboratory bedside (point of care) testing. Maintains open and accurate communications pertaining to laboratory services with health care providers and patients.

The Critical Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner in the Critical Care and Emergency Department settings. They assist the patient care team in the performance of various tasks and procedures for the critically ill patient and/or patients requiring special skills or observation. Act under the direction and supervision of appropriate clinical licensed personnel.Patient Care:Assists with admission, discharge, and transfer of patients, including transport.Provides excellent customer service when responding to patient/family requests.Reports and records patient care findings and data in a timely manner. Reports change in the patient condition quickly, and secure qualified assistance as needed.When working on a clinical unit, may be required to take medications from the delivery system to the RN.Critical Care:Prioritizes and delivers patient care as delegated by the RN or other members of the interdisciplinary team. This may include (but is not limited to) collecting patient data, vital signs, oxygen therapy, and cardiac monitoring.Performs in critical care situations as directed by RN or MD.Assist with emergency resuscitation, set-up and assistance with line insertion, and retrieval of supplies and equipment.Recognizes and completes unit and patient care needs with minimal direct supervision.Collaboration:Collaborates and consults with RN and other members of the interdisciplinary team for best patient care.Demonstrate effective teamwork, prioritization, communication, and organization.Performs non-nursing duties as delegated, i.e.: cleaning, stocking, answering phones, clerical support, providing directions, etc.

Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to Emergency Department procedures.Obtains and records patient temperatures, pulse rates, blood pressure, weight and height measurements and places patient on pulse oximetry and cardiac monitors as per ED protocols, or as directed.Reports all observed or verbalized patient concerns and changes in condition to a member of the nursing or physician staff.Performs specialty skills and delegated procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed staff member.Accompanies providers examining patients in examination rooms as needed and/or assists physicians/licensed staff with procedures.Performs delegated procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed staff member.Accompanies providers examining patients in examination rooms as needed and/or assists physicians/licensed staff with procedures.Attends and completes hospital and ED mandatory in-services.May perform phlebotomy in accordance with ED procedures and physician orders after specialized training.May clean and stock ED.
