About Peter Halliday

I’m all about content. I plan it. I write it. I obsess over it. And I produce it for some fantastic brands (the likes of Amnesty, BBC, Equinor, Ford, World Economic Forum, and Visa). The range is wide – live events, thought leadership programmes, annual reports, sustainability reports, customer reference, stakeholder engagement, videos, blog posts, articles, keynote speeches, you name it.Here are some of the reasons why I'm good at what I do:• I’m always up for a challenge – the more daunting the task, the happier I am • I’m adaptable – everything from adwords to annual reports, with deep experience across digital, live events, video and print• I’m a seasoned professional – with more than 30 years’ experience• I’m dependable – several clients have used me for a decade or more, because they know they can trust me to deliver, time-after-timeWant to take a look at some of my work? Peter Halliday Work Experience Details
  • Halliday
    Content And Copy Professional
    Halliday Sep 1998 - Present
I've run a thriving consultancy business for more than two decades, partnering with great brands and exceptional people to create standout content. I think I produce great content. But I believe my biggest strength is to listen (really listen). Then quickly come back with a disciplined piece of work that’s 95% right first time.In the past, I’ve worked on all sides of the communications business. So I understand the pressures, challenges (and politics) faced by my clients. And I always aim to deliver the type of service that I - as an in-house or agency professional - wished I could have turned to.I’m based in Shropshire but do tend to be in London every week or so.
  • Igloo Vision
    Marketing Consultant
    Igloo Vision Jul 2017 - Jan 2022
    Craven Arms, United Kingdom
Igloo is the immersive workspace company. It takes any digital content and puts it into a shared, immersive environment, a bit like stepping into a giant VR headset, so it's great for collaborative teamwork, visualisation, simulation and stakeholder engagement.I worked with the marketing team to develop the positioning, frame the message, get it out there, make it compelling, and make it stick.Clearly, digital content was critical. Social media was also important, and traditional media played a supporting role. But, for this company, face-to-face was perhaps the most important medium of all - so selecting the right events, and supporting them in the right way was central.Sales support collateral was also a big part of the role - and our work played a pivotal role in landing clients like Accenture, Microsoft, McKinsey, Disney, and more.I spent a couple of days a week with Igloo - and the rest of it was devoted to my longstanding consultancy clients.
  • Visa
    Head Of External Communications
    Visa Mar 1995 - Sep 1998
    Pan-European
Working at Visa was such a privilege.I ran the press office team, managed the European PR agencies, and nurtured the profile of the executive team. We produced some award winning consumer programmes, built up the corporate and B2B activity, introduced a media evaluation methodology, and managed some really hairy reputational issues.I guess it says something that, +20 years on, I'm still working with Visa - and still fascinated by its business.
  • Cohn & Wolfe
    Board Director
    Cohn & Wolfe Jan 1992 - Feb 1995
    London
For a hungry young PR person arriving back in London, this was a dream job. Back then, Cohn & Wolfe was THE agency, and I became part of the senior team that made it famous. We did great work, won loads of industry awards, and attracted great clients and amazing people. Originally recruited as Account Director, I was quickly promoted to Board Director, and ran the Corporate Division.
  • Weber Shandwick
    Group Manager
    Weber Shandwick 1990 - 1992
    Singapore
I loved this job. A supportive, close-knit team, some great clients, and an opportunity to really learn how to run regional accounts. I also discovered the value of building trusting, two-way relationships with influential journalists. And, by the way, this is when I first started working with Visa, a relationship that’s still going strong more than 30 years on…
  • Presko Pr, Bangkok
    Group Manager
    Presko Pr, Bangkok 1989 - 1990
    Thailand
Working in Thailand was WILD. A complete culture shock. I made so many naïve mistakes. But, looking back, I also had quite a bit to take pride in. It was a real learning experience (often painful), which challenged my youthful assumptions, and made me a much better, more balanced professional.
  • Paragon
    Senior Account Executive
    Paragon 1987 - 1989
    London
Could there have been a better time or place to serve my PR ‘apprenticeship’? Back in the day, Paragon was packed with unfeasibly bright people. The work rate was incredible. And the disciplines we doggedly followed were way ahead of their time – no surprise that so many of my peers went on to be doyens of the industry.
