After receiving both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from UNC Wilmington I have acquired the unique ability of being both business and technical minded. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration provided a solid foundation for understanding business strategy. Obtaining a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Information Systems supplied an opportunity to gained in depth technical knowledge. During this time I familiarized myself with various concepts, approaches, and programming languages; traditional and agile approaches, object-oriented programming C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Working as a QA Engineer the last two years with a technical background has provided multiple opportunities that allow me to be a more in depth QA. Understanding the why and the logic behind how a program should work gives me a better understanding of what I need to look for when testing. I am able to put myself in the shoes of the developer and see things from their perspective but also know how the customer would expect things to work thanks to my Business degree.
