Lead a cross-discipline group of functional and performance engineers to deliver the the most reliable DX12 driver, with the highest certification test passrate versus competition. Developed a new methodology for developing and validating drivers even earlier in the product cycle, before silicon.
Graphics Software Engineer
Worked with a high-performance team to rewrite the Intel Processor Graphics DX9 driver from scratch. As one of the driver architects I implemented the resource creation, resource tracking, cache flushing, locking, and aliasing code. Also developed several key driver framework concepts for speed, readability and code quality. I also conducted dozens of performance studies to guide the mega-features of the architecture. Ultimately achieved a 10x speedup in 1/10th the lines of code over the previous driver, resulting in the most CPU efficient DX9 driver versus competition. Received an Intel Software Quality Award, the highest software award at Intel. Previously co-owned the Larrabee Kernel Mode Driver and implemented a number of performance tracing systems to integrate with Intel's Graphics Performance Analyzer. Larrabee was restructured in 2009 to become Xeon Phi, an HPC server device.
