I documented the stories of serial inventor and creator of the Light Up Shoe, John Mott. This involved a lot of interviews, photography, research and production in order to do justice to this amazing story. Whilst I thought it hard to top the sense of Community I felt at the Bristol Store, Manchester really had its own sense of family. With it being the Flagship Store of the North of England, it was much larger in every sense of the word. I spent the first two months on the shop floor, understanding the differences in customer taste. Two large rooms mainly full up of red Nike boxes and blue Adidas boxes. A sneaker heads dream. Being Main stocky meant managing the logistics of deliveries and keeping on top of order. A playlist consisting of a range between the passionate tones of Sade, to slightly heavier lyrics of Headie One, provided a working days soundtrack.My final role was being head of Ship from Store (SFS). This was Head Offices move to alleviate the stress on the Warehouse as online orders during the pandemic increased significantly. Operating in our own office, my team and I were tasked with sending out a set number of orders a day. This operation was one I enjoyed being tasked with till the final days of working in store.I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Size? Manchester, making a whole new set of friends and getting to grips with living in such a lively City. Show less

During my time as a Sales Associate at Size? I learnt how one of the UK’s biggest Footwear retailers functioned. Tasking through stock rotation, Visual Merchandising and general upkeep was all a useful lesson in understanding the intricacies of retail.Dealing with customers on a daily basis allowed me to gain knowledge on what the modern day consumer wants when it comes to shoes. I enjoyed working on the retail side of limited releases, such as the Jordan 11 “Concords” and the Adidas London’s, where I was selling to the customer instead of queuing up.I hugely valued being a core part of Bristol's team as it was superbly managed and did well to achieve a workspace community.I was interviewed on my thoughts and memories of the Sneaker Culture in the companies "Know Your Size" weekly Newsletter (see attached images).Additionally, I worked as part of the team during Size? Bristol’s 10th Anniversary Celebration, which saw the shop hosting a music event with a lineup of local DJ’s and MC’s. During my time at Rife I was able to explore my love of film through the review I wrote on Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Working at Rife allowed me to experience the buzz of a creative office environment and how it is embedded with the vibrant culture of Bristol. I gained a large understanding of the creative Industry and knowledge through experienced team members and discussion I went to that was led by the an ex-BBC script producer. As an Editor at Guitar Coach Magazine I learnt to use WordPress, transfering articles from their Magazine platform onto their website. This taught me the differences in platform aesthetics and functions. I also discovered the importance of tagging and how it affects the website’s performance on Google Analytics. An additional role I undertook was managing the Magazine’s Youtube Account. I worked alongside a coach and assisted them in teaching tennis to children between the ages of 5-15. I would also take lead during the first half of the lesson and adopt the coaching role. This taught me the benefits of both visual and verbal learning. I also learnt about the importance of positive feedback from a Leader’s perspective and how it can act as a motivational force. Teaching different age ranges meant I had practice adopting the tone and formality of my language.
