I’m passionate about Australian manufacturing being at the forefront of innovation. It must be to survive. We can’t bring old mindsets to new problems. I believe that accountants aren’t the boring guys in the corner, they have the tools to inform and lead and that's what drives me in the workplace.My role is about equipping the talent in our workplace with tools to succeed and helping shape a framework for the business to win. Beyond KPI’s, I believe in helping to develop behaviours and lead culture to position the team for the future challenges of an evolving industry. I’m more passionate about the people than the numbers they generate.When I joined Nupress over 10 years ago, fresh out of a PricewaterhouseCooper traineeship, I didn’t know that I’d be involved in nearly every aspect of the business and eventually sit on the executive team. We warmly refer to life back then as “Oldpress”, a time before we grew to become a state of the art facility, with international impact and world class quality management systems.From the early projects of implementing, developing and integrating ERP & scheduling systems, to building policies, procedures and controls that helped Nupress achieve world renowned AS9100 Quality Management certification I’ve been at the forefront of organisational development from family business to industry leading SME.Beyond words and numbers, internal promotions positioned me to start leading people and I’ve had the joy of facilitating professional development sessions and strategic planning meetings. I love when the lightbulb comes on and people see how they can be a part of helping the organisation become “First Class.” I believe in developing KPI goals that mean something to people and help them to drive their day to day not just hope they get good numbers at the end.A curious investigator of Industry 4.0, I’m intrigued by what the next 10 years may look like compared to the last. Have had the joy of presenting to Hunter based business at the Hunter Defence Conference about the Nupress approach, but am always interested to hear what other companies are doing to embrace the future of manufacturing and business at large.Outside of the office I manage to squeeze in MBA studies and the occasional game of golf or Aussie Rules when I’m not enjoying the blessing of family life with my beautiful wife and two of the funnest children in the world.
