There is then a need for signal compression of the enormous amount (10 TB/day) of data. I carried out a rate-distortion analysis of seismic survey networks. Developed practical seismic compression algorithms based on Gabor frames of Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functions, functional quantization and variational image separation methods. -
