I am a plant/life science researcher, holding both a bachelor's and master's degree in biotechnology. I am a skilled young scientist with four years of experience in plant molecular biology, plant genomics, and bioinformatics. My master's research work focused on QTL mapping in rice to identify genes related to yield and grain quality. Additionally, I have collaborated on projects related to GWAS and association mapping in soybean, genome assembly of basmati rice, and the estimation of species divergence time using machine learning tools. My latest employment involved DNA fingerprinting of commercial basmati rice samples prior to their export to other countries. I am looking forward to playing my new role as citrus geneticist at the Gulf Coast Research and Education Center, University of Florida.
