About Hamza Sekkar
London lawyer, via a wild career ride, stopping off in six countries across three continents.The journey began as a project engineer with an appetite for large scale international projects. Early highlights of my engineering career include overseeing the design and construction of a major drainage network in Asia, followed by the opportunity to manage the mechanical and electrical works of a luxury resort hotel on a remote island in the Indian Ocean. These were stepping stones to more senior positions such as a pivotal role in the delivery team of a mega railway project in the Middle East.At the peak of my success – the youngest ever senior project manager in my previous organisation - I took the brave decision to leave this all behind and seek a new challenge. From managing multibillion-dollar budgets and board rooms to a basic student existence at the bottom of the corporate ladder, I left it all to qualify as construction lawyer. Fast forward several years later, I now excel in a prestigious London law firm, advising clients procuring engineering and construction works, and handling construction disputes on major national and international projects. I am versatile. I have lived and worked in six countries, collected five degrees across four decades. I speak three languages and had two careers. Yet I have one goal – helping my clients navigate the legal landscape to successfully deliver their projects. I bring world class contemporary legal practice with the background and experience of a highly accomplished engineer and project manager. For all queries, please do reach out.
