● Using Python, built automation and maintained an environment for running system and integration testing of DDOS mitigation products. This system was capable of configuring an end-to-end network deployment over Cisco switches and routers in combination with a network appliance along with client and server Linux systems.● Built a docker orchestration system in Python for launching tests in a containerized environment. Each test was broken into phases where each phase ran in a separate container and was resilient to maintenance and redeployment of the orchestrator without impacting running tests.● Using Python, automated installation of Ubuntu Linux from scratch on VMWare and bare metal servers using cloud-init but without cloud-init providers by manipulating the installation ISO image to include the necessary configuration before remotely booting from it.● Using Python and Ixia IxNetwork, I built, deployed and maintained a system for network performance testing and reporting of DDOS mitigation products using statistical analysis of many thousands of data points to produce a clear view to developers and management of performance trends.● Before any test orchestrations systems were in place, wrote automated end-to-end tests in Python for validating DDOS mitigation using new countermeasures as they were being developed.● Built and maintained a Docker Swarm environment for running services critical to test automation in a highly available deployment.● Responsible for ensuring products are released at the highest possible quality while providing guidance to the Quality Assurance team in their product review and analysis.● A critical requirement is to develop tests for new features. Our products are constantly moving into previously uncharted realms so our testing methodologies must be equally as innovative. While serving as the QA Team lead my key responsibility was to analyze and develop the high level overview and then to present them to the development team.

● Designed and tested emerging technologies for use in global network structures in support of critical corporate business strategies. Specifically layer 2 and 3 switching and routing using various protocols including spanning-tree, 802.1x security, SNMP, and OSPF. Specialized in content networking using Cisco services modules for the 6500 series route switch chassis such as the Content Switch Module and SSL services module for load balancing and SSL offloading/acceleration, respectively. ● Personally designed network layout and tested, and installed the first implementation of Cisco Firewall Service Modules in the Ford web-hosting network. This resulted in improved performance and availability of a vital link between Ford and their customers.● Key member of a Ford insourcing initiative to host Ford's customer facing web hosting environment consisting of 200+ web sites spread across 350+ servers in a modular, scalable, and fully redundant network. Designed, tested, and implemented Cisco CSM and CSS technology. This network architecture remained operational and unchanged for 2 years.● Participated in global WAN design using OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.● Administrator of Cisco's CiscoWorks Network Management Suite (NMS) in the lab environment working directly with Cisco design engineers to implement improvements and bug fixes in the CiscoWorks utility.● System administrator for Solaris UNIX and Red Hat Linux systems supporting the network testing and design facility. Linux systems include Sendmail, DNS, NFS, HTTP, Samba, syslog, SNMP receiver, FTP, and TFTP.● Responsible for product evaluation, recommendation, and implementation as well as purchasing decisions for test equipment and network gear. Key decision maker in executing a migration from the Smartbits to Ixia testing hardware and software suites causing a dramatic increase in productivity and abilities of the network testing and design lab.

As a contractor, installed and upgraded network hardware within the Ford North American Data Centers and also implemented the network infrastructure design, including troubleshooting connectivity issues and configuring Cisco switches, routers, and terminal servers. Lead CE in Ford Motor Company B2C environment. Updated and diagnosed internal and external DNS issues. Interacted directly with Ford management and Cisco NSA and DE’s regarding such technologies as Content Switching, Firewalling, Routing, Switching and other layer 2 and 3 issues, many leading to product quality and development enhancements.
