I had the privilege of leading a dynamic team in organizing and executing impactful events that fostered dialogue and understanding between Indian and Pakistani communities.Highlights of my tenure include:'Religious Minority Rights in India and Pakistan' panel talk: I orchestrated a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring esteemed speakers such as Arfa Khanum Sherwani, Senior Editor of the Wire India, Peter Jacob, a prominent Pakistani Human Rights Activist, and Mohd Yasir Khan, President of KCL Students' Union. This event aimed to shed light on the challenges faced by religious minorities in both countries.Partition Exhibition (1947): I spearheaded the organization of a compelling panel discussion that brought together Gitika Bhardwaj, Editor at Chatham House, Sara Ansari, Professor at Royal Holloway University, and Anam Zakaria, an esteemed Oral Historian. This exhibition aimed to commemorate the historical significance of the partition and its lasting impact on the Indian and Pakistani communities.'The Spectrum: Can Indians and Pakistanis see eye to eye?': I facilitated a stimulating student panel debate, involving five Pakistani and five Indian students, on the most contentious issues that divide the two nations. The objective was to encourage dialogue and bridge the gap between the communities by seeking common ground.Through my role as President, I not only honed my leadership and organizational skills but also played a pivotal role in fostering cross-cultural understanding and promoting dialogue on critical issues.
