Rise Gardens produces home smart garden systems for consumers to grow their own food. Our system is modular, allowing for different amounts of production. It also allows consumers to grow a wide variety of veggies, herbs and flowers. We are motivated to connect people to the food they eat by making growing their own food easier and more enjoyable.

TeaSquares are snacks with naturally occurring caffeine from organic tea grown without the use of artificial ingredients or preservatives. Each bite-size square is light and airy, packed with wholesome puffed millet, crunchy almonds, and flavorful fruits. TeaSquares has a social mission tied in part to the location of the business in Englewood, an almost entirely African-American neighborhood that has struggled mightily with economic decline, population loss and violent crime over the past four decades. Tea Squares is part of a rising effort based on one of the tenets of the Good Food movement: that food businesses can play a catalytic role in restoring economic vitality to struggling communities (both urban and rural).

I merged Ignite with Sportvision in 2002 and ran the combined entity. Sportvision pioneered Augmented Reality for sports. It was the creator of the "Yellow Line" in football, "K-Zone" official ball tracking and strike zone system for MLB, the glowing puck in NHL and many other products for live sports TV. Sportvision won 10 Emmy awards and has been named on the the 50 Most Innovative Companies in the world by Fast Company.

Bought back publishing assets of Real Fans from AOL after sale to CBS to establish Ignite, which published private-label digital sports content for teams, leagues and media companies. Ran the majority of the sites for NFL and MLB teams, AOL.com sports, Foxsports.com, LPGA.com, among others. Sold publishing division in 2005 after merger with Sportvision.

Real Fans was acquired by AOL and I ran the business for AOL for 2 years until AOL sold it to CBS.
