TechSwitch is a 12-week intensive software engineering training programme. The course begins with JavaScript, which leads into further web development (React, Typescript, HTML, CSS). In the second half of the course, I learned C#/.NET as the backend technology. During the programme, I took part in many small projects to gain experience with the new technologies. TechSwitch also had two group projects (one front-end React and one full-stack) designed to emulate how an industry project would run.

I Provided one-on-one educational support to children with disabilities. In this role, I developed interpersonal and verbal communication skills through adapting to each individual students’ needs both academically and pastorally.

This role involves ensuring all Students' Union ran events are democratic and accessible.

I have undertaken an 8 week research project in the University of Bristol laser group supervised by Professor Andrew Orr-Ewing, funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

In my third year at university I had a part-time job teaching the first-year course 'Communication and Information Skills in Chemistry'. My responsibilities include planning and delivering weekly seminars to a group of 19 students on how to effectively and confidently express their ideas through presentations and scientific writing.

As president, it is my job to oversee the big-picture goals of the society and ensure everything is running smoothly.

As Vice-President it was my role to work with and assist the president in fulfilling the projects and aims of the society, helping to organise competitions, training and social events.

It was my job to ensure the equality and equity of women in debating for the society, by handling issue fairly and diplomatically should there be an incident in which action is needed to be made. As a part of my role, I organised a workshop for women at Bristol University to improve their confidence and public speaking skills.

My main role as treasurer was to revise the budget and get the society out of debt, whilst affecting the running of the society as little as possible. By the end of my year as treasurer, the society was and still is in a strong financial position.

My role is as a volunteer analytical chemist for the drug safety testing and harm reduction charity 'The Loop'. My duties include carrying out several short experiments, including Infrared spectroscopy and mass loss analysis to determine the nature and purity of the sample. From this, I gained experience in working in a laboratory that requires not only high precision results, but also a fast turn around of samples. Working as a part of this developed my understanding of how to thrive in a high- pressure environment whilst maintaining scientific rigour.

In my role I provide pastoral care to undergraduate Chemical Physics students, ensuring that thestudents are represented and supported by the university during their challenging degree. In 2018, Duality won the 'Innovation Award' at the national societies awards for innovative attitude for society growth.

I worked as a member of front of house staff in Whitworth art gallery cafe. From this, I learned crucial customer service and teamwork skills; improving my communication abilities and my ability to work in a busy environment whilst maintaining professionalism.
