• UNC Alum and Software Engineer •While working towards my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, I had the opportunity to dip my toes into the world of software development, working as a “software toolsmith” for the UNC Department of Computer Science under Professor of the Practice and Director of the UNC App Lab — Jeff Terrell.During my two years as a “software toolsmith,” I developed and maintained custom web applications designed to modernize, streamline, and automate departmental accounting and data management processes. Notably, I was the foremost contributor on an important project that the department would use, starting the following summer, to track the progress of graduate students toward completing their degrees. In May of 2021 I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. In June, I was introduced by Jeff Terrell to David Belser — Vice President of Technical Operations — at Medaxion, where I continue to practice my craft and explore the industry’s latest techniques and methodologies.
