As a Human Resources intern at NSTEM, I have gained experience in screening, interviewing, and selecting qualified applicants to join the NSTEM internship team. As the manager of the screening team, I have experience guiding interns and giving them tasks. I also conduct projects and meetings within the team. As an interviewer, I conduct interviews and make the ultimate decision on an applicants acceptance. In the HR relationship management team, I work closely with other interns and directors on how to improve the overall function of the company. I reach out to and meet with interns who are struggling with the workload, and work with them and their supervisor to reach a solution.

As a research assistant in Dr. Moore's Cognition, Attention, Law & Memory (CALM) lab, I work directly with participants to gather data. This entails working with both children & adults and local museums, as well as adults in our university lab space. I set up and take down our exhibit space, gather consent, assent, and questionnaire responses, and apply wearable technology (Shimmer) as well as a Virtual Reality headset. Also have experience setting up the tech and software necessary for data collection, and update participant logs as needed. As of Summer 2024, I also was granted the ability to take on some leadership roles, such as training new Research Assistants. In Fall 2024 I was awarded entrance into the Universities undergraduate research program (UROP) allowing me to be paid for my work and ultimately present it at an end-of-semester symposium.

Through my time as a peer mentor, I worked closely with my professor and supervisors to create a welcoming environment for students. I and my other advisors worked on creating events, activities, and lessons to allow students to bond and enjoy their time in the program. I also researched events and resources available to students, and would put out a weekly canvas announcement/email to notify students of what was available. I would also host office hours and meet with students as needed.
