Providence St. Vincent Hospital

• Responsible for promoting patients’ health through assessment, education, communication, medication administration, telemetry monitoring and listening to patient and family needs and concerns. • Manage and titrate vasopressor, anti-arrhythmic, anti-coagulation and insulin drips. • Provide safe care through safe patient handling, alarms, PPE, de-escalation techniques and compassion while adhering to unit policy. • Care for patient populations including, pre and post op CABG, TAVR, valve replacement or repair, pacemakers, CHF, A-fib/flutter, cardiac conduction disorders, COPD, ESRD, CIWA and a variety of other diagnoses.

Fairview Southdale- Heart Center

• Responsibilities include: Monitoring patients on 5 lead EKG, obtaining and reading 12 lead EKG’s; titrating drips for anticoagulation, heart rate, blood pressure, and chest pain; managing airways, delegation, assessment, care planning.•Selected as Code Blue and Code STEMI team member, respond and assist with all Code Blues and Code STEMI's throughout the hospital. • Gained leadership on the a Team Leader for Patient Experience Committee • Patient population includes: STEMI, NSTEMI, unstable arrhythmias, heart blocks, CHF, cardiomyopathy, post cardiac arrest.

Patient Care Support Unit-- Float Pool

• Responsibilities included: obtaining accurate VS, intake and output, glucose checks. Transporting patients, assisting with ADL’s, reporting to RN, communicating and collaborating with RN and/or LPN regarding patient care.• Provide care to patients on a variety of units; ICU, progressive units, surgical, medical, telemetry, oncology, neuroscience and spine, orthopedics, inpatient rehab and 1:1 observation patient care.

Southdale Hospital

• Provided RN responsibilities for 4 patients, with the supervision of a registered nurse.• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition- specifically EKG's and labs. • Delegate and supervise CNA's and other healthcare personnel

I worked on the Memory Care Unit, with older adults suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I was responsible for helping them with their activities of daily living. These activities ranged from personal hygiene and toileting to conversations and crafts. It was important for me to recognize changes in their behavior or health and report them to the case manager. I frequently interacted with families as well, and updated them on their loved ones health status. Mediating conflicts between residents during social hours was needed many times per shift; in these situations I redirected the resident according to their preferences.
