• Working as part of a team to provide fresh, lively content on the latest music news and track releases, with particular attention to detail; all to keep our readers informed and not to misrepresent the artist. This job involves communicating with the editorial team, writers, PR, management and artists themselves, as well as working to deadlines and dedicating each day to research. Shortly after joining the team, I was promoted to New Music Editor, as I had proven to be a reliable and dedicated member of the team; this naturally comes with the added responsibilities, such as deciding the site’s content, recruiting staff and maintaining Unrecorded’s high standard through weekly editor’s meetings, and ensuring that my team stay motivated.

As a scout, my job is to actively seek out emerging talent that I believe will be successful and fit in with the label’s pre-existing roster. I make use of many online platforms, publications and my personal contacts to produce a bi-weekly report to meet IAMSOUND’s high standards. Additionally, I stay in regular contact with my employers to keep them up-to-date with new music from my past picks. I’ve already had the pleasure of following up with several artists and negotiating between the talent, management, press and the label curators.

My central responsibility at blinkbox Music was to prepare their updated blog for launch; this meant revising old content, populating the blog to a high standard, and creating new content, as well as guiding the development team to eliminate any site bugs. In order to do this, I had to find a new voice that would relate to blinkbox’s young, mainstream, and mainly female audience, that being without excluding any potential newcomers to the service. Additionally, I also looked after their social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr), aided with some competitions, created playlists, and recommended new additions to existing stations.
