For three years running I've joined the wonderful team of managers at Parklife Festival to look after the volunteers with the Warehouse Project, working on the entrance gates to check tickets and distribute wristbands. - Responsibility for the safety and working conditions of each volunteer assigned to my team throughout the Parklife Festival weekend.- Handling of money and vital documentation to ensure the attendance of each volunteer.- Making decisions under pressure for when to send volunteers on break, lunch, or where they should be stationed on the gates.- Liaising with security personnel and ticketing representatives to ensure the efficiency of my gate.

HumanHuman is a music discovery community that allows our users to find new talent, share their thoughts and agree on acts that they believe will be promising one day. It's a resource used by music bloggers, PRs, A&Rs and those who simply love new music. My role at HumanHuman is to oversee the daily activity, share any Promising Discoveries across all our medias (web description, Facebook post, Tweet, Instagram post and SoundCloud re-post). In addition to this, it's also my responsibility to create engaging, unique content for our users and non-users to read. From long-reads to list-based articles to interviews to playlists; these various formats are either written by myself, one of our international team or a prominent guest writer.For two years, I've helped HumanHuman to expand it's reach with highly regarded content that encourages diversity, inclusivity, tolerance and a love of the up-and-coming within the music industry.Some highlights so far have been covering The Great Escape, Pitchfork Paris and SXSW music festivals, curating our first showcase in Antwerp, Belgium, and being a guest expert twice on Roundhouse Radio.

Oxjam is a national event that encourages teams of volunteers across the country to organise their own festivals in order to raise essential funds for the globally recognised charity Oxfam.As the Sponsorship Coordinator, my role was to make our festival, with a non-existent budget, possible. Over the months, I contacted local businesses to donate whatever they could to our cause, whether it was vouchers, prizes, useful skills, their spaces for events etc. The most notable donations in 2016 were 100 canvas bags to be branded with the Oxjam Manchester logo and sold to raise money for Oxfam and our very own festival beer to be sold across our venues with proceeds going directly to the charity.My other roles for the festival included PR Assistant, Fundraiser and Venue Manager.By the end of our three-day festival in Chorlton, we raised £3,000 for Oxfam.

As the UK-based A&R for the Los Angeles record label IAMSOUND, my job was to look out for, actively seek and make initial contact with artist/bands that would be a suitable signing for the record label. Each month, I would create a report with all my recommendations for the label to consider. This job really tapped into my love of new music, be it obscure or with more commercial potential.

Shortly after creating my own music blog on Tumblr, I was invited by the then current New Music Writer to join the Unrecorded team as a writer. During my time at the US-based international music publication, I reviewed singles, EPs, albums and live shows. In my last year at Unrecorded, I was promoted to the position of New Music Editor, where I had to review each post before publication and had final say on the content written by a team of ten writers. Due to various time zones of the publications (running of EST) and a worldwide base of writers, I had to be extremely organized and consistent in my editorial duties.Most recently, I was invited back to write a guest review of one single and one album, along with all the other alumni, to celebrate ten years of Unrecorded and close the highly influential music site.

As the music streaming service created for Tesco's tablet Huddl, blinbox Music provided a unique opportunity to learn about how a streaming app functions behind the scenes. After an initial one month internship, a new role was created especially for me to act as a bridge between the Music and the Marketing departments. As you'd imagine, there were plenty of tasks I had to handle, which included co-managing their social media, advising on the look and content of their website, writing the majority of the website's content, creating playlists for blinbox's users and coming up with new marketing ideas for the app.I think the highest testament of my success as a Music Marketing Intern, was during my time at blinkbox I was also given the responsibility of mentoring two fellow interns. I would introduce them to the system and provide them with daily tasks to complete.It was a highly educational experience and one that helped me realise my own strengths and areas for improvement after finishing my internship.
