Lauren is a graduate student in Alicia Pickrell's lab, who predominantly studies the role of neuroinflammation in response to traumatic brain injury (TBI). Often, there is a harmful inflammation in the brain, in the days or weeks following a TBI, which plays significantly impedes patient recovery. Pickrell's lab is interested in the immunity regulatory proteins that control interferon signaling after TBI and lead to neuroinflammation.
