Applying in-depth analysis of strategic trends to recommend thought-provoking topics and speakers for the DTRA Strategic Forum (DSF), an Agency-wide program that supports the development of timely, credible, actionable insights into strategic threat trends and emerging science and technology issues within the CWMD mission space. Supporting DTRA’s Strategic Trends Office by attending in-person and virtual events and briefings on topics of relevance to DTRA STO, as well as providing event summaries to the broader STO team as appropriate.

(Contracted through Forge Group, LLC)Supported the DASD China, Taiwan, Mongolia (CTM) / Taiwan Team with a variety of Action Officer tasks, specifically pertaining to U.S.-Taiwan security cooperation, identifying opportunities for cooperation with Allies and partners, and monitoring longer-term research efforts that touch on OSD/IPSA/CTM/Taiwan Team equities. Attended outside engagements, assisted with delegation visits, wrote cables and meeting readouts, and prepared speeches, talking points, and read-ahead materials for senior leadership. Provided in-house support to IPSA on two wargames, serving as lead wargame designer on the government side and handling all coordination with FFRDC partners.

Responsibilities included: •Working alongside customers to identify analytic objectives and craft targeted research questions to ensure that the simulation and/or workshop produces relevant findings •Working alongside customers to recruit Subject Matter Experts from government, think tanks, academia, and the private sector with the necessary expertise to adequately address the customer’s analytic objectives •Conducting in-depth research on a variety of regions and subjects to prepare comprehensive event background materials, including literary reviews, background books, 1-pagers, and wargame scenarios •Facilitating simulation teams of 5-12 participants during wargames, ensuring that discussions remained focused on the customer’s analytic objectives and carefully managing time to ensure that the team answered all key questions during the session (as required by the project lead / report writer) •Contributing to dozens of post-event reports and briefings for senior government leaders by identifying key insights, providing an overview of gameplay, and identifying intelligence gaps for further research •Managing a Master Database with a comprehensive record of the gaming team’s past events and Subject Matter Experts •Led the gaming team’s efforts to develop virtual analytic gaming capabilities during COVID-19
