Flanders's Flying Friends Co is a PACFA-licensed 501c3 nonprofit bird sanctuary, meaning we take in birds whose owners can no longer care for them and provide them with a high quality of life for the remainder of their natural lives. Because we do not rehome birds, our turnover is slower than that of a rescue. For this reason, we have a preference for aggressive, terminally ill, elderly, or otherwise "unadoptable" birds. As executive director, I am responsible for all of our records, filings, licensures, and bird care. I do not take a salary and in fact, contribute what I earn elsewhere to the organization.
