When HQ became its' own autonomous team, I found the challenge ahead far too interesting to pass and joined the team of three.I was responsible for the B2C and B2B marketing roles and during my last year at Booking, I also took on some senior sales roles. My carrot was that, I got to search for talent for positions that we had never hired before and/or were very niche.

An unique journey where I had to navigate my team through a tremendous business growth that directly translated to massive, constantly changing and increasing hiring expectations. I was directly responsible for all commercial hiring within Europe (including HQ), Middle East and Africa. I partnered with the different business leaders in our HQ as well as all regional offices in 35+ countries to ensure that their hiring targets were met.The team was lean, 12 recruiters, spread across Europe - It was a true privilege to manage such a motivated and high-performing team. With this dream team, we hired 2000+ people (majority CS) in just 2 quarters when the business was gearing for the summer season. It was not always textbook pretty but I do not think you can (or should) expect that when you work in a fast-pace environment like Booking.com. Personally, I had to learn and adapt faster than ever to ensure that we stayed ahead of our game. Big topics that we focused on: employer branding, candidate experience, use of data in decision- making and employee engagement.

Jumping to L&D was my only "affair" during the 10 years at Booking. Yes, it was short but at the same time allowed me, to be involved in projects that laid the foundation on significant HR topics like our values, talent matrix and on boarding.

I was the 2nd person to join the global recruitment team in the HQ and was promoted to a Senior beginning of 2011.I had the opportunity to design entire recruitment processes from scratch.I partnered closely with the business and had a continuous dialog with them on current and future talent needs. Mind you, this was still pre-ATS, -big recruitment budgets and -resources. It was an era where recruitment fairs ruled and you would actually advertise in a local expat newspaper to gain attraction. It was a time where I would pick up our printed brochures and pop-up banners early Sunday morning and bike to a local job fair in Amsterdam or I would track & trace (and in some cases harass) different language communities in Amsterdam in order to find our very first Korean or Hebrew speaker to join the translation team.During this time, I successfully hired talent for all commercial functions in Amsterdam, ranging from financial roles to copy writers to senior sales positions and managed approximately 40-60 roles at any given time. Next to that, we successfully implemented Booking's first ATS and launched a global training for our hiring managers which is still used today.Due to the rapid business expansion and increased demand on recruitment across the globe I later got an opportunity to expand to international recruitment. I was responsible for attracting talent for both existing and new locations. During these 3+ years, I hired for more than 25 countries from all three continents (APAC, EMEA and Americas). I was responsible for the initial market mapping as well as advising HR on location and compensation. I managed most of the recruitment (full-cycle) remotely however when needed I travelled to meet, support and train the local business teams.

I joined Boking.com when the operation was still small scale and the global employee count was just below 500.I was responsible for an international team of approximately 25 Customer Service Executives.

My first company after moving to Amsterdam. I was a fresh graduate and new in the country - Cygnific (a full subsidiary of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines) provided a great starting point for my professional career in the Netherlands. It was an immediate match as I absolutely love to travel and I have always been fasinated about the airline industry.
